My name is John and over the past 15 years I have bought some of America's most iconic, historic bars right here in Milwaukee. I love history, remarkable properties, great people, and unique cocktails. I really do believe that we can have it all. Bryant's (1936) and At Random (1964) are not only great bars they are artifacts of hospitality history. They are special businesses that need to be run by special people.

 

We are currently searching for an experienced manager to join our team and help us run our award winning portfolio of historic bars in Milwaukee and to grow in to our next phase of business. This position will primarily oversee the operations of At Random, though our managers work as a team to problem solve and assist at all three of our locations.

 

Our lounges are institutions that continue to draw guests from all around the world. Our unique approach to cocktails and hospitality have been recognized by national publications and organizations including The James Beard Foundation (Bryant’s is a two-time nominee for outstanding bar program), Esquire Magazine, Imbibe, Bon Apetite, Food and Wine, Travel and Leisure, The New York Times, Liquor.com, and more.

 

Our focus has always been on providing a memorable cocktail experience to a diverse clientele who come from all walks of life. We value this diversity and the special place At Random has in the memories of our guests.

 

The ideal manager candidate would work with the owner to implement and create systems that inspire a new generation of bartenders, servers, and hosts. As managers, we strive to use the principles of servant leadership and mentorship to guide our staff to become world class bartenders and hosts, and to help them create a better life for themselves and their community. In short, we not only apply our hospitality skills to our guests, but also to our staff.

 

The manager we are seeking is someone who embodies hospitality and has a proven track record in this industry or a closely related industry.

 

What we are looking for:

 

✨4 years Cocktail Bar, Sit-Down Restaurant, Cafe, or Bar management experience required.

✨Cocktail Experience a strongly recommended (but not necessary for the right candidate)

✨A strong embodiment of hospitality.

✨Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required (after all, we are a cocktail lounge!)

✨Proven leadership skills.

 

What we are offering:

✨Competitive Salary ($55,000 to $80,0000 depending on experience)

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ:

We are not a craft cocktail bar (though we do mix some amazing craft cocktails), we are not a three-deep, high volume party bar (though we do get extremely busy and have lines out the door on the weekends), and we are not the type of establishment where you can give very little or show up checked out. Neither us, our customers, or your team would allow that (and you shouldn’t either)!

In order to succeed here, you have to be in to working at At Random. You have to be as excited about working at At Random as our customers are to be visiting At Random. If you don’t love it here, it just won’t work out. You’ll be unhappy and we’ll be unhappy. We know this and now you do too.
